From pantones to atoms

Firedog has been commissioned by The Royal Institution to overhaul their complete range of communication literature, to support the £20m refurbishment which is near completion…

Firedog wins the RI literature account after a 5-way creative pitch held in London. To complement the £20m refurbishment the RI’s landmark Mayfair home, Firedog has been tasked with refreshing the RI’s complete range of communication literature, including producing bespoke location photography of the restored venue’s facilities.
The Royal Institution is the oldest independent scientific research body in the world. Events are held at their headquarters in Mayfair all year round, including talks from revered scientists, exhibitions and workshops to celebrate and communicate science to the public.
Firedog are in the process of completely overhauling their entire printed literature suite, to ensure the way the RI communicate is repositioned in line with their £20m refurbishment. Firedog have set guidelines to visualise the historic grandeur and forward-thinking nature of the institution with the use of new elements, brand mnemonics and beautiful imagery.
This includes the ‘What’s On’ guide, a monthly listing of all events and activities which is distributed to thousands of locations around the country, plus membership leaflets and brochures to attract and inspire the public to visit and use the RI’s facilities.
A bespoke location shoot has just been completed to ensure their beautifully refurbished building is presented in its full glory.
The project is currently well underway in the studio and we can’t wait to have our minds filled with scientific knowledge at the gorgeous new Royal Institution later this spring!
