Firedog celebrated the imminent passing of winter with our seasonal Rendezvous.
Approximately 35 clients, suppliers and friends of the company enjoyed our ‘Ready, Steady, Design’ game show and feasted on a traditional South African ‘spitbraai’ and wines to wash it down.
The evening’s entertainment took the form of a game show parody loosely based on the ‘Ready. Steady. Cook’ TV show. The challenge was to create a product name, supporting strap-line, print ad and headline copy for a product that was drawn from suggestions offered when guests arrived.
Guests and staff were split into three teams that were offered 10 minutes to create the full remit… Creatively it was akin to whipping up a truffle souffle on a £5 budget! The three team’s efforts were then scored by the other teams and according to various criteria.
Budget required to produce the ad, suggested product name, strap-line and overall advertising concept were taken into consideration. The lucky dip brief was a cruncher and baffled the ad/design industry heavyweights amongst us. The brief was to brand a sensory keyboard aimed at heavy IT users. It took most teams five minutes to decide what it was!
Thanks to all of you who made the evening the success it was. To those of who who couldn’t make it, we hope to see you at our next Rendezvous in a few month’s time. By then the sun will be shining and the leaves in bloom.
Our next event will be our 3rd birthday celebration and the jury’s out on the format. All suggestions welcome!
